India bags two golds in badminton at CWG
India bagged two gold medals in badminton at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Saturday. In the women’s doubles, India’s Pusarla Venkata Sindhu and Ashwini Ponnappa defeated Singapore’s Chow Mei Kuan and Lee Meng Yean 21-13, 21-14 to win the gold. In the men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik 21-17, 21-16 to win the gold. This is India’s best-ever performance in badminton at the Commonwealth Games.
