All signatures on Cyprus gas field deal must be honoured

The managing company of the Aphrodite gas field, Chevron, is proposing a development plan that leaves the government in uncertainty. The government insists that Chevron honour its signature on the original plan, which would have maximised revenues for Cyprus. Chevron is instead directing capital investments to Israel’s major fields, Tamar and Leviathan. The Aphrodite field is a non-risk asset and is ready to be sold, so the government is insisting on infrastructure development.
