Halloween shooting leaves one critically wounded, several injured in Salinas
SALINAS — A Halloween night shooting has left one person seriously wounded and several others nursing injuries, police said. Police were called at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of Chaparral Street for a report of a shooting victim, according to Salinas police. Responding officers arrived to encounter people fleeing from a backyard where a party was taking place. They found the person who was the subject of the emergency call suffering from serious injuries, police said. That person was rushed to a hospital and was listed in critical condition. Over the course of an ensuing investigation, police said officers found “several other victims” with unspecified injuries connected to the shooting. All were expected to survive.
